WILKES-BARRE – King's College field hockey standout Jenera Quinones (Wilkes-Barre/Meyers) has been named to the 2009 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association South Atlantic All-Region Team.

A sophomore forward, Quinones led the Lady Monarchs to a 10-9 record and the championship game of the Freedom Conference Tournament.  On the year, she posted a team-high 29 points on 13 goals and three assists while scoring six game-winning goals.  She concluded the year as the fourth leading scorer in the Freedom Conference  while ranking third in the conference  with an average 0.68 goals per-game.

“We are very proud and happy for Jenera receiving such an outstanding honor,” King's coach Cheryl Ish stated. “She worked hard in the off-season and it paid off as she put together an outstanding season for us and was truly an impact player with her aggressiveness and ball-handling ability.  We played some outstanding competition throughout the region this year and she obviously made an impact in the minds of opposing coaches.”
