Greeley Sets Winter Baseball Developmental and Specialty Camps

GREELEY SETS 2010 WINTER BASEBALL CAMPS AT KING'S

WILKES-BARRE -- King's College head baseball coach Jerry Greeley has announced that he will be running a series of Grand Slam Baseball camps in the coming months.

The first camp in the series will be the 2010 Pre-Season Developmental Camp, open to players grades K-through-12.  The sessions run on four consecutive Sundays on January 17, 24, 31, and February 7.   See printable flyer at bottom.


There will be guided instruction covering hitting, pitching, defensive play and conditioning each day. Each session will be held in the Scanlon Gymnasium from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Cost  for the Pre-Season Developmental Camp is $35.00 for one session, $60.00 for two, $80.00 for three and $100.00 for all four sessions. 

The second camp in the series is the 2010 Pre-Season Specialty Camp, open to players grades K-through-12. The sessions will run consecutive Sundays on February 21 and 28. The specialty camps will be designed to work specifically on one area at a time - hitting, pitching, and fielding.  See printable flyer at bottom.


“The Masher” - This is the ultimate camp for players who love to hit. The camp will cover all aspects of hitting. Areas such as swing mechanics, mental drills, count pitch selection, on deck preparation and strike zone awareness will be covered. Held on February 21 and 28.
 
“The Ace” -  This specialty camp is designed for pitchers. During this camp the player will be exposed to proper pitching mechanics, conditioning methods and pitchers fielding practice. Held on February 21.
 
 “Flash the Leather” - This specialty camp is designed for infielders, outfielders and catchers. Infield instruction will focus on proper fielding techniques for various types of ground balls. Proper footwork and throwing techniques will also be stressed. Outfield instruction will include throwing footwork on ground balls and fly balls, drop steps and angles. Catching instruction will include work on receiving, blocking and throwing.  Held on February 28.

Greeley, who also serves as a coach in the Baltimore Orioles organization during the summer,  has helped guide the King's program to 136 victories the from 2004-2009.  Greeley also guided King's to  a school record for wins during each of the seasons from 2004 - 2007. He has an impressive 777-366 overall record in his coaching career.  

Cost for the Pre-Season Specialty Camp is $30.00 for one session, $40.00 for two, $60.00 for three, and $80 for all four sessions.
