KING’S SWIMMING SPLITS WITH OCEAN COUNTY COLLEGE

WILKES – BARRE - - The King’s College swimming teams split their meet with Ocean County College at Scandlon Gym on Saturday. The women’s team picked up the 100-90 victory, as the men’s squad dropped the 103-28 decision.
The relay team of Amanda Casey, Krystna Homanko, Carissa Cook and Maggie Nealer captured the 200-yard relay with a time of 2:07.05. Rebecca Smith won three events in the 50, 100 and 1000-yard freestyle events. Smith won the 50 with a time of 28.93, the 100 in 1:01.93 and the 1,000 at 12:03.56. Maggie Nealer won two events in the 200 with a time of 2:09.66 and 500-yard freestyle at 5:45.55. Carissa Cook won the 200-yard IM event at 2:38.00 while placing second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:14.53.
Amanda Casey placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.24 while placing second in the 50-yard freestyle event in 29.06. Susie Hughes had a nice showing in the pool placing second in the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 6:23.73 while placing third in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:15.28. Also having a strong performance was Krystna Homanko who placed second in the 100-yard freestyle event with a time of 1:02.42.
Eric Stencovage led the way for the men’s swimming team, as he was able to place first in the 200-yard IM at 2:09.66 and the 100-yard breaststroke event at 1:06.53. Caleb Farrell placed second to Stencovage in the 100-yard backstroke event with a time of 1:14.86.
