KING’S TAYLOR GREEN NAMED D3WRESTLE.COM “WRESTLER OF THE WEEK”
WILKES-BARRE -- King’s College senior wrestler Taylor Green has been selected the NCAA Division III “Wrestler of the Week” by d3wrestle.com/WWSport.com .
Wrestling at 157 lbs., Green was 5-0 at the Budd Whitehill Division III Duals to help King’s to a 5th place finish in the event. Green’s best win at the event was a 6-2 decision over NCAA All-American Luke Miller of Ohio Northern. Prior to the event, Miller was ranked second nationally in Division III at 157 in the d3wrestle.com individual rankings. He is also ranked second by the National Wrestling Coaches Association..
Green also defeated contender Kyle Long (23-6) of Trine, Colton Eyer (6-8) of Lycoming, Kory Leonhard (12-7) of Baldwin-Wallace, and Cory Mahoney (14-8) of Cortland on his way to an undefeated weekend. As a result of his performance, Green has moved up to #8 in the January 20th d3wrestle.com rankings.
Green, a senior from Montgomery, Maryland, is 15-4 on the season and 56-36 for his career. He was 13-3 last season before an injury kept him from competing in the Metro Conference Championships.
King’s will next wrestle Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at against Muhlenberg in Allentown.
