KING'S NAMES FULL-TIME ASSISTANT COACHING STAFF

WILKES-BARRE – King's College head football coach Jeff Knarr has announced the finalization of his full-time coaching staff.  Joining the Monarch staff are Casey Goff, who will serve as the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach, along with Eric Jendryaszek, who will double as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.

Goff, a Northeastern Pennsylvania and 1996 graduate of Montrose High School, comes to King's after spending three years as an assistant coach at traditional NCAA Division III power Washington & Jefferson College, Washington, Pa.  At W&J, Goff served as special teams coordinator and defensive line coach in 2007 before becoming co-defensive coordinator in 2008. In 2009, he also became the program's strength and conditioning coordinator.

In his three seasons with the Presidents, Washington & Jefferson posted a combined 30-5 record while going 16-2 in the President's Athletic Conference. The team won a PAC title in 2007 while finishing second the following two years. W&J earned berths into the NCAA Division III national playoffs in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Goff played a major role in the development of W&J standout Jacob Bloomhuff, who tied for the NCAA Division III lead in 2009 with an average of 1.32 sacks per game.  As a unit, the Presidents posted 3.3 sacks per game, the seventh-best total in the nation.

In 2008, he joined Matt Caponi as the co-defensive coordinator and helped the Presidents rank seventh in NCAA Division III in pass efficiency defense (162.8) and 50th in sacks (2.4 spg).

Goff came to Washington & Jefferson from Rhodes College (Tenn.) where he spent one year as the defensive line coach.  In 2006, Rhodes ranked fifth in the nation in total defense (199.6 ypg) and led the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with 32 sacks.

Prior to his stint at Rhodes, Goff worked two seasons as the defensive line/assistant strength coach at Cortland State University.  Goff helped the Dragons reach the 2005 NCAA Division III playoffs and coached a unit that ranked second in the nation in rushing defense (40.9 ypg).  He also played a role in the development of All-American and East Region Defensive Player of the Year Adam Haas.

Goff, a native of Montrose, Pa., also has experience in coaching football at Division II Mansfield University, as well as Division III Susquehanna University and Muhlenberg College.

A 2001 graduate of Susquehanna, Goff was a three-year letter-winner for the Crusaders as a defensive lineman and linebacker for the Crusaders. Following his senior season, he was honored with the team's Coaches' Award.

Goff enjoyed an outstanding scholastic career at Montrose where he served as a team captain as a senior.  In his final season in 1995, he was named the team's “Defensive Player of the Year” and was a first-team all-conference selection at linebacker.

Jendryaszek, meanwhile, comes to King's after serving the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Cortland State University where he was the offensive line coach.

He was a four-year letter-winner as an offensive guard with the Red Dragons and graduated in 2006  with a bachelor's degree in physical education, earning multiple Dean's List honors during his collegiate career.

As a senior in 2005, Jendryaszek earned honorable mention Football Gazette All-America honors as well as second team All-East and first team All-New Jersey Athletic Conference awards. He was also the team's Offensive MVP that year, was named to the NJAC second team as a junior in 2004 and was Cortland's Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2002.

Jendryaszek played for the Rochester (N.Y.) Raiders of the Continental Indoor Football League from June of 2006 to July of 2008. He was a team captain of the Raiders' 2007 CIFL championship squad. Jendryaszek graduated in 2002 from Rush-Henrietta High School, where he competed in both football and track and field.

In his first season coaching the offensive line at Cortland, Jendryaszek helped the Red Dragons finish 11-2 overall while winning the New Jersey Athletic Conference with a 9-0 record. Cortland earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III national playoffs where the Red Dragons won two playoff games before losing in the quarterfinals to eventual national champion Mount Union. Cortland later won the Lambert Meadowlands Award as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Team of the Year.

In 2009, Cortland went 7-4 overall and was third in NJAC with 7-2 record. The Red Dragons were then selected to play in the ECAC Division III Northwest Bowl.

Jendryasek is a 2002 graduate of Sperry High School, Henrietta, NY.  During his scholastic career he earned team offensive most valuable player honors and was the Royal Comet Award winner. Additionally, he earned first-team Monroe County Athletic Association all-league honors and was second-team All-Greater Rochester selection.  Jendryasek was also selected to play in the Eddie Meath Senior All-Star Game.

Eric is the perfect fit for our offense," Knarr observed. "He is familiar and comfortable with a multiple pro style offense.  He is a technician and a great communicator, so our OL will know how and who to block.  He brings a high level of enthusiasm to the field."

"I'm excited to be working with Casey again,"Knarr stated. "Our overall coaching philosophy and defensive philosophy are the same.  Casey is everything you want in a defensive coach.  He is fiery, enthusiastic, and detailed oriented.  He makes it exciting for the players."
