KING'S MEN'S SOCCER HOLDS ANNUAL ALUMNI GAME
WILKES-BARRE -- On Saturday, April 17, the King's College men's soccer program held its annual Alumni Game at McCarthy Stadium in the Betzler Athletic Complex.
A total of 25 former King's men's soccer players returned for a day of rekindling old friendships and memories, while meeting alumni, and friends. Naturally, the big game between the alumni and the current Monarch players was a huge highlight. Despite some creaking joints and sore muscles, the alumni brushed away the cobwebs to make it a very competitive, yet fun contest, but the King's varsity team won by a 3-1 margin.
The team then enjoyed a reception after the game at the Frog Pond on Coal Street.
Coach Mark Bassett is hopeful of growing the game each year and alumni from all eras of King's men's soccer are invited to come back. Feel free to contact Coach Bassett at the following email address to inquire about next year's alumni game.
