MONARCHS HEAD TO DESALES UNIVERSITY FOR THE START OF CONFERENCE PLAYOFFS, VIEW LIVE STATS
WILKES- BARRE - - The King's College baseball team will return to the diamond on Wednesday as the teams travel to Center Valley to take on DeSales University for the start of the 2010 Freedom Conference playoffs. First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.

King's enters the tournament as the number four seed with a 23-14 overall mark and a 12-9 league record after picking up a doubleheader victory over Penn State University Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
Senior Matt Unger leads the team with a .412 (49-119) average with 10 doubles, three triples, two home runs and 36 RBI. Freshman Mike Kuster has a .412 (21-51) average as well with four doubles on triple, one home run and 16 RBI. Freshman Chris Sweeney has a .395 (47-119) average with 17 doubles, five home runs, one triple and 28 RBI. Senior Jeremy Bonser hits .392 (31-79) with 10 doubles, one triple, one home run and 20 RBI.
Sophomore Brian Mikus adds a .382 (42-110) average with eight doubles, three triples, two home runs and 32 RBI. Senior Sean Rooney chips in with a .319 (30-94) average with seven doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI, while Rob Fravel has a .318 (42-132) with six doubles, two triples and 17 RBI.
Leading the way on the mound so far has been senior Eric Matula who is 5-2 with a 4.44 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 50.2 innings. Junior Tommy Rozelle is 5-3 with a 3.94 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 48 innings. Senior Dan Jenkins has a 3-1 overall record with a 2.01 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 22.1 innings.
The DeSales University baseball team stands at 24-15 overall and 17-4 conference mark after picking up a doubleheader victory over FDU-Florham on Saturday.
Derek Moyers is batting .458 (65-142) with 11 doubles, eight home runs and 45 RBI. Jason Hadinger follows at .418 (46-110) with eight doubles, six home runs and 34 RBI. Carson Slonaker stands at .416 (57-137) with 18 doubles, two home runs, one triple and 52 RBI. Jack Kavetski adds a .413 (50-121) average with seven doubles, two home runs one triple and 25 RBI.
For the pitchers David Drinks is 8-0 with a 2.45 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 66 innings. Dan Gayeski is 8-1 with 47 strikeouts in 46.2 innings. Travis Hughes is 4-3 with 39 strikeouts in 43 innings.
