King's Wrestlers Earn 40-3 Victory Over Scranton in Metropolitan Action
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. -- The King's College wrestling team got pins from
Aaron Perez,
Chris Mazzocchi and
Gordon Custer to earn a 40-3 victory over visiting Scranton Tuesday night at Scandlon Gymnasium.
The Monarchs jumped out early getting a hard fought 6-4 victory from
Jamie Scarantino at 125. Perez scored the first pin of the night at 133 downing Josh Javitz in 4:46 to give King's a 9-0 lead.
DeMarquis Holley picked up a technical fall in 5:32 over Pierce Keane. Mazzocchi and Custer each scored first period pins at 149 and 157 respectively to extend the Monarchs lead to 26-0.

Tommy Desir added to the King's lead with a 15-6 major decision over Shawn Flesche.
Ahmed Burton tallied a 16-5 major decision at 174 against Joe Weitmeyer to push the King's lead to 34-0.
Shane Stark added a 10-3 decision at 184.
Cemah Tudoe-Torboh battled back from a 10-7 deficit, but couldn't finish as he dropped an 11-10 decision to Christopher Silakoski at 197.
Ryan Longenberger scored a takedown in the first overtime session to get a 6-4 win to set the final at 40-3.
The Monarchs are back in action on Saturday at the Metropolitan Dual Meet hosted by Centenery College wrestling starts at 11:00 a.m.
