King's College Wrestlers Fall to No. 7 Wilkes in Season Finale
 
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – The King's College wrestling team closed out their season with a 36-9 loss to crosstown rival Wilkes Friday night in Metropolitan Conference action.
 
The Monarchs fell behind early forfeiting matches at 125 and 133. Wilkes Jeff Peterson and Mark Hartenstine scored pins at 141 and 149 to put the Colonels up 24-0. Krstopher Krawchuck tallied a tech fall over Nathaniel Seals to extend the lead to 29-0.
 
King's got on the board when Tommy Desir scored a 3-1 decision over Nathan White. The Colonels struck back with a 5-0 decision form Dustin Stough over Anthony Clifford at 174.
 
Shane Stark gave King's a 6-1 decision when he scored late take down and three back points to cut the Wilkes lead to 32-6. Wilkes picked up a major decision at 197 with Matthew Transue defeating Cemah Tudae-Torboh 17-5.
 
King's lone senior Peter Dwyer scored an 8-3 decision at 285 to close out his final home match.
 
The Monarchs are now 6-11 in dual meets and are back in action on March 2 when they travel to the NCAA East Regional at Gettysburg.
