Box Score King's Men's Soccer Falls 1-0 to Elizabethtown
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. -- The King's College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to visiting Elizabethtown in the second day of the of the annual Labor Day tournament.
Despite the Monarchs out shooting Elizabethtown, 11-6 in the first half the Blue Jays got on the board first when Luis Devia took a one time shot that was saved by King's keeper
Mark Labbadia. Devia found the rebound and finished the play for the only goal of the game.
King's held the edge in shots for the game with a 15-12 advantage although the Blue Jays had a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks.
Chris Nygren took six shots, one on goal, to lead the Monarchs.
Daniel Hernandez and
Niall Croke each tallied a pair of shots.
Labbadia made four saves and took the loss in net, while Justin Signora earned the win for Elizabethtown making four stops.
The Monarchs fall to 0-1-1 and start a four game road swing on Tuesday when they travel to Clarks Summit to take on Keystone in a 4:00 p .m. start.
