KING'S MEN'S SOCCER REMAINS UNBEATEN WITH 3-0 OVER ELMIRA

ELMIRA, NY -- The defending Freedom Conference champion King's College men's soccer team broke open a game scoreless at the half with three second-half goals as the Monarchs posted a 3-0 victory over host Elmira College Wednesday in Elmira, N.Y.  
With the win King's improved to 3-0 on the year while Elmira fell in its season opener.

Chris Nygren posted the game's first goal unassisted with a 25-yard blast into the upper right corner just 2:16 into the second half. Daniel Hernandez then scored by knocking in a loose ball in from of the Elmira net at the 64:51 mark.


The Monarchs ended the scoring at 69:46 when Korbin Keene converted a cross from Nygren into a 3-0 final score.

King's outshot Elmira 20-5 and held a 12-3 advantage in corner kicks. Monarch goalie Tyler Wilson was forced to make just one save.

King's returns to the pitch with a weekend road series. The Monarchs travel to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday before venturing to  the College of Staten Island on Sunday.
