GRIFFIN WINS 22ND STRAIGHT MATCH BUT KING'S FALLS TO MISERICORDIADALLAS, PA ---
Madeline Griffin improved to 23-1 on the year but the third-seeded King's College women's tennis team saw their season end with a 5-2 defeat at the hands of second-seeded Misericordia University in the Freedom Conference semi-finals on Wednesday afternoon.
Misericordia improves to 9-7 and advances to Saturday's Freedom Championship match at Wilkes on Saturday with the win while King's sees their season end with a 6-12 record.
The Cougars captured two of the three doubles matches with Griffin teaming with
Julia Keppel to post a 8-5 triumph at number-one doubles for the Monarchs. In singles Griffin won her school record 22
nd consecutive match with a 6-1, 6-0 straight sets victory at number-one singles. However, the Cougars were able to post victories in three of the remaining five matches for the victory.
