KING'S GRAPPLERS FALL TO ONEONTA, 29-18

WILKES-BARRE — The visiting Oneonta State University wrestling team overcome two forfeits by winning five of their six matches with bonus points as the Red Dragons posted a 29-18 victory over host King's College Tuesday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win Oneonta improved to 4-11 while King's slipped to 5-12.

After King's James Wright picked up a forfeit at 125-pounds, Oneonta got a decision at 133 and a pair of major decisions at 141 and 149-pounds to take a 11-6 lead. After King's Howard Kilpatrick picked up a forfeit at 157 to put the Monarchs ahead 12-11, Oneonta secured pins at 165 and 174  to take a 23-12 lead.

King's cut the score to 23-15 after Edward Merrill earned a 11-6 decision at 184. But Oneonta shut the door with a pin at 197 to go ahead 29-15.  At 285, King's Ralph Bernardo registered a 9-3 decision to et the final score.
